pregnancy steps 19: the 8 months checkup

this is one of the most awaiting checkup sepanjang pregnant ni…kenapakah? actually sume checkup pon x sabar nak pegi…it just that this one macam laen sket…first sebab nak tengok my iron studies result…remember my hemoglobin kan low due to the thalassemia carrier thingy? so ari tu ada amek darah sebab nak check iron dalam badan cukup ke and time checkup ni leh tau result…second, nak tengok how the baby is since false contraction ari tu…third nak tau adakah baby membesar di luar jangkaan…huhu…

so….the result?

good news my ferritin is ok…iron cukup dalam badan…hb level tu xleh nak wat apa sebab ada thalassemia trait tu kan…

the baby? lil b is weighing 2.3kg now…according to doc suppose at 8 months baby 1.8kg jek…sehat sungguh baby ni! hoho…doc cakap kalau dia x tau when is my due date, dia ingat I da 9 months da sebab baby besar and perut macam da full term…perut da penuh katanya…sebab tu dia x heran bila I cakap I slalu penat…rasa macam perut xde space da and sakit2 sume…kalau baby besar, doc kata either mummy makan banyak sangat and all the food pegi kat baby or my sugar level high (ayat elok sikit untuk kencing manis…hihihi…)

disebabkan baby besar and ari tu ada false contraction yang lama jugak, doc kata ada possibility baby nak keluar awal…haha…apekah? how awal is awal kan? seriau dengar ok…I mean mind x set lagi nak beranak neh…hehe…I tot doc maen2 jek bcoz 2.3 kg x ok ke untuk 8 months pregnant? cam ok je kot kan? but boy! I was wrong…doc serious ok…doc kata kena ready untuk any pre-mature delivery so……..guess what? kena amek injection oke!

kena amek two shots of dexamethasone…ntah mende la kan…it is actually one type of steroids….dexamethasone may be given to women at risk of delivering prematurely in order to promote maturation of the fetus's lungs….senang cite injection tu untuk kuatkan paru2 baby in case terkeluar awal…first injection amek kol 8 malam and the second one kol 8 pagi….kena 12 hours gap…

lupa nak tanya doc injection tu kat mana…takkan kat tangan kan sebab cane nak gi kat baby…tibe2 terpikir ntah2 kat tuuut tuuut kan…kot2 dia masukkan apa2 ke….whoaaaa sakit tu! hehe….skali kat bontot la….haha…lama giler x kena cucuk kat bontot neh….malu la!!!! hehe….the feeling? da kena warned kata this type of medicine sakit tapi ingatkan ok la tapi hamek ko….sakit giler! pejam2 mata je masa nurse tu inject…lepas tu kaki kebas kemain lagi…then lenguh2 pulak…until now still rasa lagi lenguh2….

next Saturday kena minum air gula pulak…yucks! doc kata the taste of the glucose drink sangatla horrible….dia pon x paham nape dorang x bagi coklat ke…hehe…they call it mgtt test…nak check sugar level….lets pray sume ok sebab if my sugar level high, saya adalah kena control makan! kesian kan? no sweet2 things…no ice cream….no cakes…no chocolate…dang!
